‘Tis the season to sell your house?! Many people wouldn’t even think that November and December are good months to sell a house. If done the right way though, selling during the holidays can be beneficial and profitable to you with the least amount of hassle possible! Here are some benefits to selling during the holidays:

There is less competition to sell your home during the holiday months, so take advantage of it! This means that more buyers could see your home both online, at showings, and open houses. Buyers are also very motivated during this time. If someone is looking to buy a home in the midst of the holiday season there must be a reason for it. Most likely, these buyers are not casually looking at homes. They are looking to buy the perfect fit NOW.
If you find yourself needing to sell your home during the holidays, follow these tips:

Make sure leaves are raked consistently and cleared from steps and walkways. Get rid of any dead flowers, plants, and weeds.
- Decorate in moderation. We all love decorating our homes for the holidays. Christmas decorations might actually make the home feel more cozy for potential buyers who walk in! If you’re the type that likes to go all out with indoor and outdoor decorations, this might be a good year to hold back some. So yes you can still decorate for the holidays, but don’t overdo it. A good way to spread some holiday cheer to potential buyers is baking Christmas cookies right before a showing. You will fill the whole house with a sweet cookie aroma!
- Be flexible with showing times. Remember you want your house sold! Allowing some flexibility in your showing availability will allow buyers to balance their busy holiday schedule to come tour. You can still have your holiday plans though! Hosting company? No worries! Block out the time you need with your family. Traveling a lot? Even better! That makes it even easier to get buyers in to look at your house. Even if you’re staying in town most of the holiday season, this may be a perfect opportunity to attend some holiday events to get out of the house!
