    Williamson County Educational Impact Fee and New Construction Homes

    Williamson County officials voted on November 14 to approve the educational impact fee for new construction homes in the county. While there are still several months before it fully goes into effect (September 1, 2017), if you’re thinking about building a home in the near future, keep reading to see how this affects you.

    What is the “educational impact fee”?

    In order to keep up with the massive growth in the Williamson County School system, there will be a fee added to building new construction homes in Williamson County. This fee will go towards new school construction in Williamson County.

    How much is the fee?

    When does it go into effect?

    It must be approved at the November commission meeting to be implemented on March 1, 2017. People who pull building permits within the first six months of the fee being implemented will only pay half. Starting September 1, 2017, the full fee will be required.
